Thandukkeerai Pesarattu

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup moong dal (green gram)

  • 1 cup thandukkeerai (greens), chopped

  • 2-3 green chilies

  • 1-inch ginger piece

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. Soak the Dal: Soak moong dal in water for 4-5 hours or overnight.

  2. Grind the Batter:

    • Drain the soaked dal and transfer it to a blender.

    • Add chopped thandukkeerai, green chilies, ginger, cumin seeds, and salt.

    • Grind into a smooth batter using a little water. The consistency should be similar to dosa batter.

  3. Make Pesarattu:

    • Heat a tawa (griddle) and grease it with oil.

    • Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it evenly into a thin round shape.

    • Drizzle oil around the edges and let it cook until golden brown.

    • Flip and cook the other side for a minute.

  4. Serve: Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato chutney.
